The long awaited one-page checkout is finally available for Shopify Plus Webshops.
Shopify announced the coming of this feature within their Summer Editions ’23, yet it wasn’t available… until now. We’re very excited since this is a big step to the eCommerce future. Especially if we look into the eCommerce world right now, simplicity is the key.
The One-page checkout gives the customer the possibility to have all relevant information regarding the purchase on one page and view and makes the buying experience even more seamless. Clicking through several pages until buying something can lead people to reconsider or decide against a product, but with the one-page checkout this problem is gone.
Switching to a one-page checkout is a game-changer for your online store, and here’s why it’s a definite enrichment. This streamlined checkout process not only collects the same essential information from your customers as the previous three-page checkout but also maintains compatibility with your existing conversion tracking setup. Plus, you won’t lose any of the customisations you’ve carefully crafted for your store because the one-page checkout supports the same customization options. However, it’s worth noting that the header layout is different, which may affect your background image display, but this can be easily adjusted. Additionally, the introduction of customisable wording ensures that your checkout process aligns perfectly with your brand’s messaging. In essence, the one-page checkout enhances both the customer experience and the administrative side of your online store, making it a valuable upgrade that can boost conversions and simplify the shopping journey for your customers.
To access the one-page checkout feature, it’s important to have upgraded to Checkout Extensibility. You can conveniently make the switch to the one-page checkout through the Checkout Editor by following these steps:
1. From your Shopify admin, navigate to Settings > Checkout.
2. In the Checkout customization section, either create a draft checkout or customize an existing one.
3. Once you’re inside the checkout editor, click on the Settings icon located in the far left column. Scroll down, and you’ll find the layout switcher at the bottom left corner.
4. You can easily preview the one-page design and toggle between the two layouts here. Rest assured, all your customisations and extensions will seamlessly integrate.
